Can an object have a speed of zero while it has an acceleration that is not zero? Explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it cant be possible because Acceleration is defined as time rate of change of velocity with unit time a = v /t so when v is zero then a =0 because Acceleration is directly proportional to the Velocity when the velocity would be zero then Acceleration automatically would be zero and if Velocity increase then Acceleration will also increase ... So , we conclude here that it can never be possible that when Velocity is zero while Acceleration is not zero. if u any question then ask
