What is a Polyhedron? It was mentioned in my art lesson as a 3D figure.

Yeah, it's a 3d figure that has "many faces". Those faces are made up of polygons. Polyhedrons also contain sharp vertices and straight edges. An example is a pyramid or prism.

You can use the equation V+F-E=2 to find the number of faces, edges, or vertices; depending on the variable.
