If 25 students were accepted into Northwestern University's PhD program and the average GPA for students was 3.8 then what was the lowest GPA?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is tough.

OpenStudy (zarkon):

You do not have enough information to determine the lowest GPA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what else would i need?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You'd need to know the GPA's of each student. Finding an average could vary like crazy, from having someone with 0, to having someone with 4.0 to produce that average.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well what can i find from this info then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that all from the question? I just crunched some numbers and zero is a possibility. That means the range of the lowest grade is a large range,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to be honest i got the stats from this website and im tryna see what more info i can get with the given information

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The lowest in this case i would say is 3.8 since that's what they prefer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no thats the average bro

My uncle's grad school has a minimum GPA of 3.8 i think. But generally, it can be around 3.0 to 3.33
