OpenStudy (venomblast):
but what is the question?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i have to find thru algebra when the population is 2.3 mil using the equation i showed
OpenStudy (venomblast):
this seems like a exponential growth and decay problem

am i correct?

im not sure i just know the equation i showed u is the one i need to use

The plan for this problem is to isolate e, so you can take the natural log of both sides of the equation
In your equation. plug in 2.3mil for P.
Then multiply both sides of the equation by (1+e^(whatever))
Distribute so on one side you have (constant)e^(whatever) +(something) = (something else)
subtract something from both sides, so you have (constant)e^(whatever) = (something else) - (something)
divide out (constant) on both sides
take natural log of both sides
so you have (whatever) equal to some other stuff
solve for t

it said the answer was wrong.. they're looking for it in y=ae^(-bt) form
