OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

In the figure attached, the diagonals of the quadrilateral ABCD are perpendicular to each other. If AC = 26 cm and BD = 20 cm, what is the area of the quadrilateral ABCD?

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

|dw:1413097575013:dw|

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well for a quadrilateral for have perpendicular unequal diagonals its a rhombus the area \[A = \frac{1}{2} \times x \times y\] where x and y are the lengths of the diagonals

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

Ohh... thanks.. I had doubt regarding the figure... as this doesn't look like a RHOMBUS..

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well normally they would include the statement..." Not to scale" on the diagram

hartnn (hartnn):

could be kite too, but area will be same

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

okay... :)
