This is possible because our actions on earth can affect the global climate, but it also couldn't.  There are various opinions, but apparently there are no substantial facts, hence, if there was then it would be very obvious if our actions do or do not affect the global climate. Because we still don't have enough facts and proof, scientist still have different opinions.
