write the equation of the line that has an x intercept of 5 and y intercept of 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first find the slope, another way of putting an x-intercept at 5 is (5,0) and a y-intercept is (0,9) and now use the slope equation, m=Y2-Y1/X2-X1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

once u have the slope put into y=mx+b form. the slope will be -1.8 y=-1.8x+b and since the y intercept is 9 b=9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thus the whole equation y=-1.8x+9
