Four sets of data are shown in box-and-whisker plots. Which set has the largest INTERQUARTILE RANGE? A B C D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Hint: Interquartile range = IQR IQR = Q3 - Q1 |dw:1413158251485:dw|

OpenStudy (caozeyuan):

THis is kind of obvious

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know how to find IQR. I keep getting the same IQR for two of the plots.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

for plot A, what is the IQR?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what is Q3 for plot A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait sorry, Q3 is 75 and Q1 is 55

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

both incorrect

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

those are the max and min

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the right edge of the box is Q3

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

where the box literally starts is Q1 , and where the box ends is Q3. And like jim said above, the IQR = Q3 - Q1. Now look at the first one....Q3 = 70 and Q1 = 60...making the IQR (70 - 60) = 10. I think you can figure it out now.
