Water will absorb more heat from the room Assuming the water and glass jar were at the same initial temperature, the glass jar and water will attain thermal equilibrium with the room. Their final temperatures will be the same with respect to each other as they are in thermal contact. Since both have the same mass, water having a higher specific heat capacity, will absorb more heat for the same change in temperature. Since the temperature change is the same for both substances, water will absorb more heat
