3x-y=-3, -15x+5y=15 parallel, coincident, or intersecting

OpenStudy (venomblast):

Again. set y=mx+b. The more you practice the more you would understand it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got x-y and x+5y

OpenStudy (venomblast):

use algebra to set y on the left side only and the y intercept(b) and the slope(x) to the other side.

OpenStudy (venomblast):

so in order to get y by itself, you move the x component to the other side. then if y has a coefficient next to it, divide both sides by the coefficient

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so I got -1/3y+1 and -1/3y-1 so intersecting

OpenStudy (venomblast):

so for the fist one, 3x-y=-3. 1. I will add y to the other side (in order to get a positive value for y) and add 3 on both sides (to get y by itself) 2. I should get y=3x+3 there you are done. now do it for the other equation.

OpenStudy (venomblast):

not quite. but yet. it is intersecting
