Guilds and a Changing Economy Do you know how cities, merchants, artisans, and money changers changed the European economy in the Middle Ages? Study this painting of a 15th century market town in the Netherlands. Think about how this painting reflects what life was like in the Late Middle Ages. You will analyze the painting to complete this assessment activity. Your analysis will be focused on discovering three parts of the painting that show evidence of change in Late Medieval European society and economy. Focus on the interactions between people and try to determine what activity is going on? How does this activity reflect the change in European society or the economy that is happening as guilds developed? © Public Domain Ethics, Politics, and Culture, a 15th century painting of a market in the Netherlands Keep the following in mind as you analyze the painting: •Consider how the painting reflects the economic and social changes of the late medieval period in Europe. •Identify three features from the painting, and explain how each feature represents a significant change that took place during this period of history. •Make sure you select three unique interactions. Your explanations for each of the three interactions should not be the same as or significantly similar to) your explanations for the other interactions. •Use complete sentences to express your ideas, and make sure that your explanations are thorough. This means that each answer should be at least two sentences.

Consider how the painting reflects the economic and social changes of the late medieval period in Europe. -----well it shows a bunch of dudes trading stuff which is noteworthy because its all very civilised and indoors and there is a monetary exchange going on •Identify three features from the painting, and explain how each feature represents a significant change that took place during this period of history. oh man i dunno umm the architecture has advanced considerably - especially churches the clothes have changed from furs to fine fabrics there are shelves to hold produce which is cool because it shows they wanna display stuff
