a weightlifter lifts a 1,250-N barbell 2 m in 3s. How much power was used to lift the barbell?

OpenStudy (matt101):

Power (P) is the rate of work done per unit time. The work is just the force times the distance: 1250 x 2 = 2500 J. This was done in 3 s, so P = 2500 / 3 = 833 W.
