Anyone help me out with a word problem?

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

Jennifer can paddle a certain distance with the current in 2.5h. To cover the same distance against the current, she takes 5h. How many times faster is her rate of paddling in still water than the speed of the current?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because you subtract!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no wait..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

life is hard.

i think its 2. because if she can paddle 2.5 and she paddles 5 then you add her normal speed in paddeling (2.5) to 2.5 and it equals 5. (2.5)x2=5 so its 2
