Help!!

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

How many solutions will this system of equations have? y = -3.5x - 3.5 y = -3.5x + 3.5 No solution Infinite solutions One solution Two solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve it first, do you know how?

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

No /:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is where these two lines meet. The slope of these lines is the same, therefore they never touch (they're parallel) meaning, no solution.

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

Ohhh ok, thanks. Can you help me with this one too? The graph of a system of equations with different slopes will have no solutions. Always Sometimes Never <---- I think it's this one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Always.. Im pretty sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep!

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

Ok, thanks! I was kind of confused because of how it was worded.

OpenStudy (aum):

"The graph of a system of equations with different slopes will have NO solutions." Never. It will always have a solution because two line with different slopes will always intersect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As was I, they will never not have a solution, unless they are parallel.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's right. Wow, what was I thinking? Yeah unless they are parallel.

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

@bcollins @aum thank you to you guys too! :D

OpenStudy (aum):

You are welcome.
