–20 + (–2) x (–6) =

Are you trying to graph this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No just finding the answer

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

So, is x being multiplied by both -2 and -6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh! All you need to do is follow Order of Operations then. Do you know what that is? (Not trying to sound condescending, I'm just trying to find out what information I need to supply :))

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

Remember BEDMAS (brackets first, then exponents, division/multiplication, addition/subtraction in that order)

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

Here we have addition and multiplication, so do multiplication first

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

20 + (–2) x (–6) = = 20 -12 =8

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

20 + (–2) x (–6) = 20 -12 =8

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

Is it just me or is the format of my answer really weird?
