Select the SIX weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation. There was no way to elect Congressmen. Congress could not declare war. Congress could not levy taxes. Articles could only be changed by a unanimous vote. There was no federal court system. No one was authorized to negotiate with foreign governments or the Indians. Congress could not regulate trade. The Articles were intended to be temporary. Different states had different numbers of votes in the Congress. There was no national executive. Nine states had to approve any new law in Congress.
