use the order of operation to solve this problem. solve the problem in the following order parenthesis, exponent, multiplication, addition, addition and subtraction. first multiply 3*(-12)=-36. The new expression becomes \[-7+(-36)\div(-3)\]. next divide 36 by 3 and the expression now become -7+12=5
