you can think of a ratio as a fraction so 1:1 can also be written as \[ \frac{1}{1} \] and as you know that is equal to just 1 you probably know that *anything* (except 0) divided by itself is 1 so you can write \[ \frac{2}{2} = 1 \] or lots and lots of other examples
