Need help A level math question (picture attached below)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (amistre64):

divide and inverse tan maybe?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i typed what i meant ... divide, then take the inverse

OpenStudy (amistre64):

im assuming since your asking the question that you are taking the class and that you are familiar with these terms ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea sorry i know what they mean, so after dividing can you help with the inverse.

OpenStudy (phi):

I think amistre is saying sin(2x)/cos(2x) = tan(2x) so you solve tan(2x) = 2 do you have to do this *without* a calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks that helps and we are allowed a calculator

OpenStudy (phi):

the tricky part is because you have tan(2x) you have to find all the angles A from 0 to 2 pi where tan(A)= 2 (because after you divide by 2) the answers will be between 0 and pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

phi could u help me pl

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the sites borken, notifs aint notifying as they should ... but phi did well :)
