Of course the reasoning is wrong: since the room's running cost is $55 that SHOULD BE the final answer. 
SO they pay 60.. 60/3 = 20 
20 minus 1 from each = 19 
minus another $2 from the whole bucket is 2/3 from each so 
19 minus 2/3 = 18.33333... 
So now we multiply this by 3.. 18.33333*3 and get what? 
$55
