A scientific theory can never be disproven. True or false?

OpenStudy (javk):

False, there are many examples of scientific theories having been proved false, take for example the 'plum pudding model' of an atom. It was thought previously that an atom was like a solid ball with electrons stuck on its outside. Now we know that its mostly vacuum and that electrons orbit in shells around the nucleus, which contains most of the mass of the atom. It's more about it can never be proven to be 100% correct, and that's way it's called a theory and not a fact
