An oil drum of mass 250kg rests on the ground. A Vertical cable is attached to the drum and the tension is gradually increased. At one stage the tension in the cable has the magnitude 1800N. a)What is the magnitude of the normal contact force between the drum and the ground at this instant? b)What happens when the tension reaches 2500N?
