9x(3 + 5) = -10 Using the properties of equality, find the value of x in the equation below.

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

So you basically want to solve for x, you want to know what x equals.

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

you want x by itself

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

So first of all distribute the 9x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need the answer ill medal

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

Do you know how to distribute the 9x? it's basically multiplying the 9x to all the terms inside the parentheses. Do it and tell me what you get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

27x+45x

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

ok so now you have 27x+45x= -10 So combine like terms [add the terms which are alike] so add the 27x and the 45x

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

What do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it -10/153 can u check out my other question posted

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

No if you add 27x and 45x you get 72x so now you have 72x=-10 now solve for x so divide 72 to both sides...what does x equals?
