say the number is "x" 1/3 of that number will be (1/3)x so the difference of that and 3 would be \(\cfrac{1}{3}x-3\) so 2 * that would be \(\bf 2\left(\cfrac{1}{3}x-3\right)\) the given variable is "x" so what if x = 9 ?
