x3 +y6 = 12

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

Is it x*3 and y*6 or x^3 and y^6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure my friend asked me to ask

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

Haha, ask him is it "x times 3 or x to the power of 3". If you don't mind.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Believe its times. she also needs it worked out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's x*3 + y*6 =12 and its a solve for y

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

Mmk, so you get y alone: 3x + 6y = 12 (I just wrote it a different way) 6y = 12 - 3x y = 2 - 1/2x

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

It can also be written as: y = -1/2x + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay I'll explain it to her. Is that the answer so I know its right? ((Sorry I failed this part of my math class when I was in school lol))

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

Haha. It is, also, do you know what to do? If you don't know it now, you won't be able to explain it to her.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Somewhat. I just cant explain it very well. She was messaging me on fb asking me.
