Identify the domain and range for the relation. {(1, 3), (2, 5), (3, 7), (4, 9), (5, 9)}

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Domain = set of allowed inputs = set of allowed x values Range = set of possible outputs = set of possible y values

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Basically, the domain is the (x) coordinate and the range is the (y) coordinate. So what you'd want to do is just figure out each (x) coordinate and (y) coordinate and answer them correspondingly to the domain and range.

soo...what's the answer?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

give it a shot hyesukm52

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5} R = {3, 5, 7, 9, 9} ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

very close

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

it turns out that you toss out the repeated values in any set

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so for example, {1, 2, 3, 3} turns into {1, 2, 3}
