Can anyone here at all familiar with Electrical or Electronic Engineering tell me what Dropout Voltage is? I'm finding the term in documents all over the web but am having plenty of trouble finding a definition that I'm sure corresponds to the term.

Did you see this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dropout_voltage I would say I'm too familiar with electrical or electronic engineering, but that seems to define it. As for a mathematical definition, it seems like it's actually dependent on the circuitry of the voltage regulator. There might be a good way to examine the circuitry to find a theoretical dropout voltage, though.
