Bob is trying to lose weight. He knows that the more time he spends exercising, the more calories he will burn. However, in order to test this theory, Bob walks on a treadmill at the same speed for a different number of minutes each day (5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, etc.) and uses a heart rate monitor to measure the number of calories he burns. If Bob records the number of minutes he has walked and finds the number of calories burned increases by 10 calories with each 10-minute increase in time spent walking, what is the dependent variable in this scenario?
