if p,q,r are the roots of the cubic equation x^3-3px^2 +3q^2x-r^3=0,show that p=q=r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if p, q and r are roots => (x-p)(x-q)(x-r)=x^3-3px^2+3q^2x-r^3 multiply out and equate coefficients. you should get 3 equations in the 3 unknowns (p, q & r). solve that system to show that p = q = r.
