Growing up, I really misunderstood wolves. Fairy tales,  "The Three Little Pigs," gave me a false impression. I pictured wolves as big, bad creatures that could blow down houses.

As a teenager, horror movies confused me. I envisioned wolves as bloodthirsty beasts or humans trapped in another form.

 things changed. In college, I went camping with friends. I witnessed my first wolf up close. I finally understood the beauty and grace of the majestic creature.
