What they want you to do.. is to round each number to a number that is easier to divide such as in the first example.

They also want you to round the first number up and also down.

If the last digit is 5 or greater you would round up to the next whole number, if the digit is less than 5 you will round down to the next whole number. So 12 would go to 10. 28 would go to 30. 336 would go to 340.....

but why in the example the 1,322 is around to 1,400

for the numbers 1000 or bigger you would round to the hundreds spot, for exaply if its 1234, you would round to 1200 but if it was 1252 you would round to 1300. its the number if bigger than 50 round up, less than 50 round down
