"The endless chattering of my teeth, the utter darkness of the sky, and the ungodly amount of biology homework that awaited me like a lion ready to pounce did not matter much to me as all I could think of was the party tomorrow."

And an audiophile could be sitting somewhere doing nothing else but listening to music, or even maybe sleeping with headphones in their ears.
