not sure what a solution is spose to be ... out of context of anything else, the formula you posted is just sitting there, all alone, doing nothing of any great importance.

does S=0? are we solving r in terms of A and a? just not sure what 'solution' consists of to be honest.

ok I'm sorry some of it got cut off the rest is a1 is less than or equal too a2 and it wants you to solve for a1 and a2
