What is relationship between Mitosis and cytokinesis

OpenStudy (leonardo0430):

hold on...

OpenStudy (leonardo0430):

Cytokinesis happens after mitosis: strictly speaking mitosis finshes when telophase is over and the two nuclei are seen as separate entities, each witha nuclear envelope. Cytokinesis describes the formation of the cleavage furrow and the subsequent division of the cytoplasm into the daughter cells. Without cytokinesis the cell would have 2 nuclei, then 4 and so on. I think this occurs in Drosophila embryos during development; only later in the embryonic development the cell membranes form.
