How do I make a triangle with an area of 124 units, if the problem is asking me to make a triangle nine times the area of the original, which is 14? *NOTE: The original triangles height is 4, and its base is 7.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

make a rectangle 2x the area and cut it in half ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, that may work for other triangles, but the question is asking me too make a triangle nine time the original area, which is 14.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*times

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

9*14 = 126

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

Area is proportional to the square of side length If you multiply the base and height of original triangle by 3 .... that will make area 9 times larger
