yea, from \(-5\) to \(7\) horizontal is \(12\) units from \(-4\) to \(-7\) is \(3\) units you have a right triangle with one side 12, the other 3, and the hypotenuse (distance) is \[d=\sqrt{12^2+3^2}\]
