if angle beta(b) is tan(b)=-7 and that is in quadrant II. Find both sine and cosine. There is more to the problem but I think I figured out the first part..any help would be superb:)

OpenStudy (freckles):

angle beta is tan(beta)=-7?

OpenStudy (freckles):

I don't think you mean that...

OpenStudy (freckles):

Let's just assume you have some angle b in the second quadrant such that tan(b)=-7

OpenStudy (freckles):

tan(b)=-7/1=7/-1 I put the -1 along the x-axis since we are to the left of the y-axis

OpenStudy (freckles):

You not to use Pythagorean Thm to find the hyp.
