Difficult Question. Please help!! The Question is: An archer on planet zorg spots an octomorph in a tree that is 100m away horizontally and 100m away vertically. He shoots a quatum arrow at it with initial speed of 100m/s. However, at the instant the zipbow is fired, the octomorph drops down from the tree. If the accelearation of gravity is 98.1m/s on planet zorg, in what direction should the the archer aim the arrow in order to hit the octomorph as its falling?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have figured out the octomorphs position as a function of time. its \[y = (-49.05m/s^2)t^2+100m\]

I have no idea how to know what to do to make this arrow and the octomorph reach some spot at the same time. Please help!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

youre projectile equation needs a third term, an initial velocity term which usually takes the shape: vo t sin(theta)
