If you roll a die what is probability that an odd number will appear on top.. I thought it'd be 3/6 because 3 odd numbers out of total dice but clearly, that's wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, clearly it is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on the other hand, no one writes an answer of \(\frac{3}{6}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since it is one half

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, now I know what the problem is. It needs to be simplified to 1/2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you call that "simplifying" then yes it is saying that half of the numbers are odd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya u have a 50% chance of a odd number and a 50% chance of an even...just because it is a odd number does not mean you wont have a higher chance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

probability of rolling sum of 7 with 2 dies i was thinkin 1/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya if you are talking about 2 dies then it would be a little harder to get what you want but you still have a 50 50 on each die only rolling 7 that a different story can u plz help with my question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually 6/36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so yeah 1/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think that right can u help me plz
