Too bad both those answers are incorrect.

Cross-sectional area - area of triangular base = (1/2)*base*height = (1/2)*1 m*2 m = 1 m^2

Volume = Height * Cross-sectional area = 17 m * 1 m^2 = 17 m^3

This is one very valid reason why we absolutely do NOT recommend giving answers with no work shown.  Also, we absolutely do not recommend posting questions with no work shown.  Show your work!

??  ALWAYS show your work.  It is just plain silly (or maybe cheating) not to show it.  @Chop-GTAS, if you had shown YOUR work, perhaps we could discern where you made your error.

Do NOT argue against showing work.  It is in the terms of service.  Whatever excuse you can imagine for failing to show your work is, by definition, wrong.  SHOW YOUR WORK!

You should not have gotten a medal for that.
