Solve for h. P = mgh A. h = P – mg B. h=pg/m C. h=p/mg D. h = P + mg

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

@iGreen

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

about time u got here

OpenStudy (igreen):

Lol, sorry I'm helping other people..

OpenStudy (igreen):

P = mgh This is just like solving a regular equation but there are letters instead of numbers. To get h by itself you have to get rid of the mg that's being MULTIPLIED by h, and to get rid of it you have to do the opposite, and what's the opposite of multiplication?

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

division

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

so we know its not a are d but its b and c I say b

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yes the opposite is division so we divide mg to both sides. That's going to give us \(h = \dfrac{P}{mg}\) So which choice is our answer?

OpenStudy (igreen):

@rayman5766

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

why did u tg mi am here I choosen c

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yep, that's the answer!

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

that was number 2 I have to do five can u help me still

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yes, I can.

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

also its going to take a min forme to typ this is so u cn help other ppl

OpenStudy (igreen):

Okay, that's fine.

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

Which literal equations are equivalent to m=w/g? A. g=w/m B. g=m/w C. w=mg D. w=m/g

OpenStudy (igreen):

It's asking which equations are same as that one. Let's solve for g in m = w/g m = w/g Multiply g to both sides: mg = w Divide m to both sides: g = w/m So g = w/m is one of our choices.

OpenStudy (igreen):

Now let's solve for w in the equation m = w/g m = w/g Multiply g to both sides: w = mg So w = mg is our second choice.

OpenStudy (igreen):

There are only two correct choices..what are they? @rayman5766

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

a and c also are u human

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yep, you got them. And yes I am..lol. Why do you ask?

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

Which literal equation is equivalent to y = 0.4x? A. x=0.4y B. y=0.4/x C. 0.4=xy D. 0.4=y/x

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

@animal_lover36

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

help

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

@iGreen

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

@iGreen help me pls I know I am not the only one but i just realized its 11:47

OpenStudy (igreen):

y = 0.4x is the same thing as 0.4 = y/x

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

soits a

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

its A

OpenStudy (igreen):

It's D..because D has 0.4 = y/x in it..
