1. Dependent Variable (usually the factor that is measured) - growth (height) of plant
    Independent Variable (the manipulated variable) - time of the day the plant is watered 

2. Think of factors that must stay constant throughout the experiment, i.e, plant species, amount of water, soil type, sunlight, etc.
