OpenStudy (dj3strella):

Can someone help me please 8. Yasmin looked at the pattern 2, 16, 18, 54, and determined that the next number should be 162. What type of reasoning did she use? inductive reasoning deductive reasoning algebraic reasoning direct reasoning

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That was easy (deductive reasoning) Well i think i was barley studying that myself!!

OpenStudy (dj3strella):

@perl is she right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If im wrong im wrong srry i just tried to help but not sure

OpenStudy (dj3strella):

i know and im trying to find out if ur right or not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Probally isnt like i said i barley studied

OpenStudy (perl):

this is inductive reasoning

OpenStudy (perl):

also your question has a typo, it should say 2, 6, 18 , ...

OpenStudy (perl):

inductive reasoning says that a pattern you find will continue. the classic example is day 1 sun rose today day 2 sun rose again day 3 sun rose again day 4 sun rose again ... therefore my (inductive) conclusion is: the sun will rise tomorrow in our mathematics example we find a pattern in a few numbers . However we cant be absolutely sure the pattern will continue, just as we cannot be absolutely sure the sun will rise tomorrow

OpenStudy (perl):

and you can google inductive reasoning versus deductive reasoning.
