I really can't explain it well:/ Maybe @perl What I do: 0.(43)=x (imagine, that 0.(43) is x) 0.(43)=x|*100(because you don't want to have that periodic thing, so you multiply all equation), you get 43.(43)=100x now from the second equation you substitute the first one: 43.(43)-0.(43)=100x-x 43x=99 (now you are solving the equation) 43x=99|:43 x=43/99
