The other three options all contain some kind of bias. A scientist wants their work to be significant and so they can choose to display or explain their data in a way that supports a hypothesis, or collect other research that supports their findings while ignoring or downplaying research that doesn't. If a completely different scientist manages to produce the same results in their own experiment, it would make those original results stronger because someone who didn't have a personal stake in those results was able to replicate them independently.
