The figure shows a triangular piece of cloth: Triangle ABC has angle ABC equal to 90 degrees and angle BAC equal to 35 degrees. Length of AC is 8 inches What is the length of the portion BC of the cloth? 8 cos 35° sin 35 degrees by 8 cos 35 degrees by 8 8 sin 35°

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

sin(35) = BC/AC

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

opp over adjacent.. but how do i know which of the choices it is then ?

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

@math&ing001

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

between B and D

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

i mean opp over hypotenuse .. my bad

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

Well B is sin(35)/8, but sin(35) = BC/AC is gonna give you BC = sin(35) * 8. I don't know how you got confused.

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

Yep !

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

thank you

OpenStudy (math&ing001):
