Which shows this equation in standard form? 7 – 3(x – y) = 5x + 2 A. 3x – 8y = 5 B. 8x + 3y = 5 C. 8x – 3y = 5 D. 8x – 3y = –5

Okay, I'm gonna tell you how to solve this instead of just giving you the answer. If still don't get it after this, let me know. The first thing you do is distribute the -3 to the x-y that's in the parenthesis, then you make sure to isolate all of the variables on the left side, then you try to see if your answer matches the ones given. If not, divide both sides by -1 and check again.

so if i do this i'll have my answer

I just did those steps and I arrived at the answer, so yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me know what answer you get though, and I'll make sure that it's right.
