Select the sentence that best describes why plastics and rubbers are good insulators.
In order for a material to be a good insulator, the electrons must be able to move freely into and out of the atom. Atoms of plastics and rubber have electrons that are able to move freely. Many materials like plastics and rubber do not have any loosely bound electrons in their outer shell making it difficult, if not impossible, for electrons to move between atoms. Plastics and rubber atoms have the same number of neutrons and electrons. This allows them to share electrons with other materials resulting in an electric current that can flow freely. The free flowing arrangement of the plastic and rubber atoms make them able to freely accept electrons and allow the flow of electricity.
Is the answer the second option? Please let me know. @amistre64 @abb0t @Preetha @ParthKohli @One098
conductors allow the free flow of electrons resistors impede the flow insulators stop the flow are these good definitions?
i think yes
if so, then 3 of them are sayng insulators have a free flow ... and so the remaing option is correct by default :) but google would provide a good dbl chk
so the second option is correct?
my best educated guess (which is worth nill) is the second option yes
i simply dont know the composition of rubber and plastic ...
ok, thank u very much! :) can u help me out with another question? i will post it separately.
maybe ...
ok then
