Help with algebra 2 please?????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Write the following equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@master50777 @jigglypuff314 @mathgeek27 @kisstherains @fatima0ham @Rafaelruizanchez @satellite73 @superhelp101

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ello give meh one sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm in college but I have never seen this format b4 on the graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Algebra 2 isn't my best subject. Sorry :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kisstherains thanks anyways @ mathgeek aw okay thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

looks like a step function to me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@satellite73 how do i solve it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@cookiimonster27 i'm sorry couldn't be of help :( Good luck tho and have a great day! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am not sure what kind of answer you are looking for certainly it is a piecwise function it look like "floor' function, maybe floor of x + 2 or something similar play around with it and see what you get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to write the equation for the graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is not that but here is a picture of floor (x+2) http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=floor+%28x%2B2%29

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@master50777 could you help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

getting closer try \(2\left \lceil{x}\right \rceil \)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For wat?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[2\left \lfloor{x}\right \rfloor\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

getting closer http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=2*floor%28x%29

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you know what the greatest integer function is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh then skip this problem it is a transformation of the greatest integer function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@satellite73 But i have to do it @AkashdeepDeb i think it is 4x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sometimes called "floor" and "ceiling" functions http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floor_and_ceiling_functions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does this look like what you need? http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=2*floor%28x%2B1%29+domain+-4..3
