Like I seriously have been asking for help for days already and I just need ONE question answered because I already have answers for a and c but WHAT ABOUT B. please help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For a. it is y+mx=c and for c it is 2600, correct? I'm not sure about b.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Wazzabob

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why would A be y+mx=c?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Uh I'm not too sure I am really horrible at math so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the rate of change of the population

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you tell yourself you're bad at math, then you're right. your first step is just to graph the points on the plot. e.g., for the point (2000, 1605), you plot a point just above 1600 on the y-axis for the x-coordinate 2000.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the slope is the rate of change: (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) just apply it to the specific situation, therefore the rate of change of the population during a year For part c) you should extrapolate the graph and use the formula to find the population

|dw:1413755562615:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I already graphed the points ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This whole thing just doesn't make sense to me and I really have to turn it in tomorrow because my grade went so much down because of this assignment

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya as i told you for part b: the slope represent the rate of change of the population

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so... like I should write 2002-2004?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just write "the slope represent the rate of change of the population"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank You x. And the answer for A is incorrect? like the y+mx+c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c. 2600 is correct,r ight?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

give the exact value value u got for c plz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2414?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 2699.88888.... so rounding it up will give 2700

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok let me explain it to u: - first you have to find the slope of the line for this u can take any points provided to you in the table then you got to use the formula y=mx+c ( m is the gradient(slope) and c is a constant) substitute the value u got for the gradient in the formula above and also any point provided to you in the table as the value of y and x. And you solve for "c"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

having done this just replace the x value(2013) in the formula u obtain in step 2 and you will get the right answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to frid slope: (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (2363-1605)/(2009-2000) = 84.22222... to find constant,c : y=mx+c y=84.22222x+c 1605=84.22222(2000)+c c= -166389.4444 Therefore : y = 84.22222x - 166389.4444 to find population in 2013: use: y = 84.22222x - 166389.4444 y = 84.22222(2013) - 166389.4444 y = 2699.88... answer = 2699

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hope u understood the concept, this is the basic you got to understand that in orrder to solve other problems in the future
